BlindCafe Rules & Participation Guidelines
These guidelines explain how members help keep BlindCafe welcoming, inclusive, and fair. They supplement theSite Policy, which contains the complete community and enforcement rules.
1. Be Kind and Respectful
BlindCafe is built on kindness, patience, and respect. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and included. A friendly attitude and clear, considerate communication help keep the community enjoyable for everyone.
2. Individual Accounts and Fair Play
Each participant must sign in and play from their own BlindCafe account. Members of the same household may participate, but they must play as individuals. Do not share an account, pool answers, play as an in-house group, or coordinate in a way that creates an advantage over members who are playing independently.
Anyone who wants to participate must sign up as a member or use their existing account. An exception for a particular event or circumstance must be approved by BlindCafe before play begins.
3. Inclusion and No Unfair Teaming
BlindCafe is meant to be a place where every member feels welcome. Friendships are encouraged, but exclusive groups or coordinated teams must not be used to exclude others or gain an unfair advantage.
- Play from your own account and make your own contributions.
- Do not form teams or exchange answers when an activity is intended for individual play.
- Help create opportunities for members to participate with different people rather than being routinely left out.
The goal is simple: no unfair advantages and a community where everyone has a reasonable opportunity to be included.
4. Treat Volunteers with Kindness
BlindCafe Board Members and Hosts are volunteers. They give their time to run events, support members, and keep the community active. Treat them with the same kindness, patience, and respect expected in every other BlindCafe interaction.
5. Suspension or Ban for Rule Violations
BlindCafe may warn, suspend, or ban a member who repeatedly breaks the rules or behaves in a way that harms the community. Reasons may include:
- Repeated rule violations.
- Disrespectful, threatening, or harmful behavior.
- Creating an unfair advantage in games or activities.
- Ignoring Host, moderator, management, or Board warnings.
Serious conduct may result in immediate temporary action under the Site Policy. The Board of Trustees or authorized BlindCafe management will review longer suspensions and permanent bans and decide the appropriate action. The purpose is to protect a safe, fair, and enjoyable community.
Drawings and Giveaways
Unless a particular drawing publishes different eligibility rules, a person must meet both requirements below to be eligible for a prize drawing or giveaway offered through BlindCafe.net.
6. Membership Duration
You must have been a BlindCafe member for at least 90 days before the drawing or giveaway date.
7. Recent Activity
An active member generally visits BlindCafe three or four times per week and meaningfully participates while there. Signing in and then immediately leaving does not count as participation.
Participation may include:
- Joining events.
- Playing games.
- Taking part in conversations.
- Participating in other community activities.
The Board of Trustees will determine whether a person meets the applicable activity requirement.
