About BlindCafe

BlindCafe is a free, accessible online community where blind and visually impaired adults can learn, laugh, talk, and build lasting friendships.

A Community Built to Connect

BlindCafe was created to give people from around the world an accessible place to meet through voice chat. From the beginning, the idea was simple: technology should help people find friendship and community, not place another barrier in their way.

Members bring different cultures, interests, experiences, and levels of vision to the Cafe. What connects us is a welcoming environment where people can share conversation, entertainment, knowledge, laughter, and support.

Then and Now

The original BlindCafe community gathered for morning conversations, card and dice games, poker tournaments, trivia, music rooms, technology tutorials, plays, talent nights, comedy, and many other shared activities. Those programs helped turn an online service into a real community.

More than a decade later, BlindCafe continues that tradition through TeamTalk voice rooms, accessible games and competitions, community events, newsletters, and BlindCafe Radio. Individual activities change over time, but the purpose remains the same: give people an enjoyable place to belong.

Who We Welcome

BlindCafe primarily serves blind and visually impaired adults. We also welcome their adult friends, family members, caregivers, volunteers, and supporters who want to participate respectfully in the community.

Membership is free. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and agree to follow the BlindCafe Site Policy and Rules & Participation Guidelines.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build community for blind and visually impaired people through friendship, radio, games, support, and accessible online spaces.
